Singapore Women’s Association continue to take pride in organizing our 43rd SWA Charity Gala Dinner as the benefits are multifold! Despite the increasing challenges to raise the much-needed funds to support our community services, it is the continuous support and generous donation from loyal supporters who see our efforts to do good for the community that 43rd SWA Charity Gala DinnerSingapore Women’s Association continue to take pride in organizing our have kept us going and spurred us to achieve our mission, year after year since 1954.
This year, we continue to work hard with enthusiasm in organizing our 43rd SWA Charity Dinner with the highlight of the Miss Singapore Pageant International Finals. The pageant which aims to promote culture, peace and love in the community, also serves as an excellent platform to introduce and inculcate the spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism among our young women. Through our experience, we truly believe that with the right environment and mentors, our young women will be groomed to be selfless community leaders, in line with our theme, “Beauty with Heart & Grace”.
SWA aims to raise $150,000 through this Charity dinner. The funds raised will be used to:
Fund the nationwide SWA’s Singapore VisionCare Programme (SVP) – the first free mobile eye clinic for the elderly run by volunteer doctors and members. Since it started in year 1990 more than 27,000 elderly have benefitted and referred for further treatment. Eye diseases and Health issues were detected during the eye screening,
Fund services, programmes, activities for residents at Lions Home for Elderly,
Fund scholarship programmes for Bursary Award for secondary school students,
Fund support programs for women in need, to enable them to build financially independent and resilient families
